Finally, the Weekend
While I'm sad that "Justice" is being put on hiatus, I'm a little relieved because TiVo is taking over my life.
This week I finally returned to the gym and my yoga classes. I've cut out all my sweets. I've been eating on my regular schedule. I have more energy. This weekend is a nine mile run and I feel ready for it.
After work last night, I headed to the Abbey for an Out at NBC/ Universal employees event to hear about a mentoring program that the company is partnering up with. I then headed four blocks down to the gym. There is a phenomenon with me that I would like to pitch to a paranormal show. I can walk into any empty locker room in the world, but as soon as I start to get undressed, five grotesque men will descend into the EXACT corner where I have placed myself to get to their lockers. It happens EVERY TIME. I end up doing this dance where I try to put on socks standing up, and move my gym bag from one bench to the next.
After my workout, I went home to watch "Grey's Anatomy" on TiVo. Say what you will, it's a great show. And it was great to see Peter Paige! He was fantastic. Great role.
BUT
TiVo and ABC... now I understand why everyone who TiVoed "Alias" was always up in arms. ABC doesn't finish their shows on time. So when McDreamy walked in to end everything with Addison, TiVO CUT OFF just the bathroom door opened! So I had NO IDEA who came out of the bathroom until I did blog Google searches. I screamed so loud I woke my roommate. And my downstairs neighbors.
AND
TiVo decided that I didn't need to watch "Six Degrees." Which I wanted to.
Today was very busy day. We're almost done shooting "Isolation," which is the seventh episode. We start shooting the eight on Tuesday, with some additional scenes that we are shooting for other episodes. I JUST finished reading "7 Feet Under" which is 609 and it is fantastic! I love getting to the last page of a script and closing it saying, "damn." It also features the return of one of our beloved characters, which I'm thrilled we have back.
In regards to the "Vegas" crossover, (again, I'm not the NBC spokesperson) - but a few fans wrote concerned about how that would work out. The two episodes are actually stand alone episodes, so they will simply air as two different episodes on each show. The storylines and the character plots are not affected.
And still no word on when we will find a home, but after the shock wore off, we're all a little relieved. We would have performed really well in that hour, but all the better that now we can go in and perform well on another night - and PROVE to the network what a valuable asset we are to the network for season seven. And most likely, it's going to happen sooner rather than later.
"Ugly Betty" - haven't seen the new pilot, but it's huge for ABC. I'm certainly glad we're not opposite it now. I saw the original pilot and apparently they corrected all their mistakes. Everyone in the office is raving about how good it is.
Tomorrow (Saturday) I'm going to be at the Beverly Center passing out brownies. While I don't normally make it a practice it stand in a Macy's and pass out baked goods, I'm actually doing it for Project Angel Food's participation in the Macy's Passport festivities. So if you are in the mall tomorrow from 3-5, come see me and get a brownie!
