Traffic. Really? THIS early!?

7:00 AM
LA Center Studios
Today and Wednesday I'm producing a short for Strike TV (yeah, even though the strike ended the day before...). It's a short of the series LAW AND ORDER. Potentially, the show could be picked up to run on the internet. It should be ready to view in a few weeks. We shot on a Panasonic Vericam. Small crew.
8:02 AM
Hollywood - on Highland Ave.
"Someone" left all the tape stock for our Panasonic Vericam at their home in Santa Monica. I had to go find an buy stock. Fortunately there was a place open in Hollywood. Even more fortunate was finding a store open.

Back with the tape stock. Along the way, I got several phone calls that we had some "challenges" to overcome. At this point, we are already two hours behind. We have 12 hours at the location and 8 pages to shoot.
10:20 AM
Coffey Sound
So. We have tape. But. "Someone" didn't confirm our sound guy. That's right. We don't have sound. I had to go to Coffey Sound and they had to build a sound package for us. They were great. However, it is a timely thing, building a sound package and three people dropped everything to build it.
By the time cameras are rolling, we are four and a half hours behind.

We're onto the second scene.

With no fires to put out, I sat in the corner and did a final round of notes on THE TELLING. (Had to add "the father" - earlier in the script.)

3:40 PM
FLIX Cafe
I attempted to use the Wifi in the commissary, but to no avail.
This pic is on Coke machines. The guy in the photo is Peter Siaggas. Peter and I went to college together and he is directing the new series on VH-1, FREE RADIO (which is hysterical.) Lance Krall, who is the lead, also went to college with us.
My favorite part of this photo: It was taken in 1991. And I was the back-up. And I think if I remember correctly, it was a $300 buy out. I've seen this picture for 17 years.

Under the gun. Literally. We have to be wrapped in an hour. The thugs go over the "kill shot" with the camera guys (behind the wall.)

We're wrapped. It got bloody. (Our actor gets "shot" and I attempted to help him get off the ground without bleeding all over his clothes.)
By an act of God, we caught up and only went five minutes over.

My House
So happy to be home. I didn't think I was going to like this whole couples thing - but my God... this show has got the drama.

It's Coffee Ice Cream Tuesday.
